Announcing the 2008 PLanUNC Users Workshop

As part of our efforts to provide support for the PLanUNC users community, we have scheduled a three-day workshop to be held in the Spring of 2008.


We have added a third day to the workshop to cover new additions to PLanUNC, including convolution-superposition code and a variety of new image analysis tools. An overview of the topics to be covered is included below.

The workshop is scheduled for April 23-25 at the the William and Ida Friday Center for Continuing Education in Chapel Hill, NC. The workshop is being provided at no cost, but attendees will be responsible for transportation and lodging.

Day 1 - Basic usage
o Installation and setup
o Treatment planning (physicist and physician perspectives)
o Commissioning PLanUNC
Day 2 - New PLanUNC features
o Convolution-superposition dose calculation algorithm (use and commissioning)
o New Image analysis tools
Day 3 - Adapting PLanUNC
o PLanUNC data structures
o Interfacing PLanUNC with other treatment systems and formats (Monte Carlo, DICOM-RT)
o Programming in PLanUNC
